Stories with a raised eyebrow.

Dark humor meets meticulous craft. A sardonic perspective on worlds built from the inside out, one obsessively planned chapter at a time.

Portrait of Shaun Hardy

I’m a storyteller with a raised eyebrow.

I write dark comedies about small towns that rot politely from the inside. I build worlds where people are funny, flawed, desperate, and just self-aware enough to know they’re spiraling. I’m not interested in heroes. I’m interested in motives. Cracks. The moment someone smiles while quietly unraveling.

Late Gen X shaped the tone. We grew up unsupervised, skeptical, allergic to sentimentality. We learned early that everything marketed as “life-changing” usually isn’t. So I don’t write inspiration. I write implication. I write tension. I write the uncomfortable laugh that sneaks out at the wrong time.

“Sardonic Scribbles is where I test ideas. Where commentary bleeds into fiction. Where characters say the things we’d never post.”

I don’t believe in tidy morals. I believe in earned consequences. And I believe the funniest truths are usually the ones that sting a little.

The Architect Behind the Chaos

01

Brainstorm

Theme, character conflicts, core stakes. Every project starts as a controlled explosion of ideas before a single word gets written.

02

Build

World rules, emotional arcs, narrative scaffolding. The invisible architecture that holds everything up when the plot gets complicated.

03

Outline

Scene maps before page one exists. Thorough planning doesn’t kill creativity — it keeps creativity from wandering into traffic.

04

Draft

Execute the plan, then sharpen the voice. This is where the chaos gets a reason to exist and the characters finally get to breathe.

Nothing Half-Baked Leaves the Oven

I’m building an eight-book series. And no, I’m not releasing Book One while I’m still outlining Book Five. We live in a binge culture. Entire seasons devoured in a weekend. No one wants to wait twelve months for the next installment while their memory fades and their enthusiasm cools.

When the first book drops, all eight will already exist. Complete. Polished. Ready to be consumed in whatever fever-dream marathon you prefer. I’m not in a rush. I’m finishing the story before the internet can interrupt it.
